The Penguin In The Forest (By Bodge101- EXCLUSIVE)

This is a Bodge101 original story, written exclusively for this site! Read more here: http://bodge101.wordpress.com

One day, Bodge was walking through the forest. He loved forest walks: listening to the rustle of the leaves, watching a young penguin learn to fly (a jet pack, that is) and smelling a rancid cheesy odour that seemed to follow him everywhere he went! he loved the feel of this ancient place, and it’s fascinating history.

This day, however, the forest felt somehow eerie and ghostly. The few penguins he did see were hurrying along the path, looking troubled, and certainly not learning to fly jet packs. It was Hallowe’en night, which is no ordinary night in Club Penguin: in fact, you could say it’s the only real night in the whole year! A five day night… A solar eclipse…

Pretty soon, Bodge was lost. He couldn’t see his flippers in front of his face. It wasn’t your usual darkness, no, it was something much deeper. He kept walking forwards, thinking “Just a bit further… Just a bit further…” but where was he trying to go? He didn’t want to admit to himself that he had no idea. He just kept going: never stopping, always forwards, into the velvety and silent blackness.

Suddenly, he heard a noise. It was a long drawn out wail, from just a few steps away. He jumped backwards and slammed into a tree. He felt blood trickle down his beak.

“Who’s there?” he cried, trying to keep his voice calm, heading in the direction the nouse had come from, feeling his way ahead so he wouldn’t hit more trees, “Is someone there?” he called again, more nervously this time.

“Who is that?” croaked a voice.

“I’m Bodge101, I’m here to help.”

“Who is that?” the voice asked again.

“I’m Bodge, let me help you.”

Bodge had walked right up to where the noise had come from, but could see nothing.

“Who is that?” asked the voice again, so close that Bodge could feel the creature’s breath against his neck.

“I can help you,” said Bodge, though unsure how, seeing as he couldn’t see a thing. He heard the drawing of something made of steel and felt a fishing rod pressed against his throat.

“Don’t move!” said a gruff voice, “we’ve got you surrounded.”
